Introducing the Wisp
|Wisp (Yarn: Patons UK Misty, substituting Rowan Kidsilk Haze)|
Wisp is a fantastically simple pattern and suitable for beginner lace knitters. Mine was knitted entirely during my daily commute. The original pattern suggests to wear Wisp like a stole and incorporates buttonholes. I decided against adding buttons as I wanted to wear it like an airy, oversized scarf, wrapped around the neck as shown in the pictures.
Despite the stole's lightness, it has served as my winter scarf throughout the last months as it turned out to be incredibly effective at keeping the cold winds at bay. The fine Mohair fibres seem to form an almost invisible insulation barrier. Wisp is therefore not only a fantastic fashion accessory, it turns out to be one of my most versatile and useful knits to date.
