The Star Stitch is a simple lace stitch. All of the in- and decreases are worked on the wrong side, i.e. the purl-side. The right side rows are knitted throughout.
This stitch motif produces a meshy texture, making it an ideal stitch for summer garments and accessories.

What does YRN mean in your pattern?
ReplyDeletePlease explain YRN, new knitter here. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteYRN stands for 'yarn round needle' - It's a YO (yarn over) increase done between two purl stitches (By comparison, the YO increase is between two knit stitches.) You're starting with the yarn in the front of your work, and you bring the working yarn all the way around the right hand needle until it's back in the front of your work again. The you purl the following stitch.
