The vertical zig zag motif of this stitch is created by a simple mix of knit an purl stitches. The stitch motif requires a multiple of ten plus two stitches and is knitted over a total of ten rows.

Multiple of 10 plus 2 stitches

Row 1 (right side): K1, *k5, (p1, k1) twice, p1; rep. from * to last stitch, k1. 

Row 2 (wrong side): K1, *(p1, k1) three times, p4; rep. from * to last stitch, k1. 

Row 3: K1, *k3, (p1, k1) twice, p1, k2; rep. from * to last stitch, k1. 

Row 4: K1, *p3, (k1, p1) twice, k1, p2; rep. from * to last stitch, k1. 

Row 5:  K1, *(k1, p1) three times, k4; rep. from * to last stitch, k1.  

Row 6: K1, *p5, (k1, p1) twice, k1; rep. from * to last stitch, k1. 

Row 7: K1, *(k1, p1) three times, k4; rep. from * to last stitch, k1. 

Row 8: K1, *p3, (k1, p1) twice, k1, p2; rep. from * to last stitch, k1. 

Row 9: K1, *k3, (p1, k1) twice, p1, k2; rep. from * ending final rep with k3.

Row 10: K1, *(p1, k1) three times, p4; rep. from * to last stitch, k1. 

Repeat rows 1 to 10 for pattern.
