Knotted Boxes Textured Knit Stitch |
Just in time before the onset of the new week, I knitted up a swatch for the 'weekly swatch' post.
This time it's a textured lace knit stitch, which creates the impression of 'knotted boxes'. It's a simple stitch motif, which is worked over eight rows.
After experimenting with a number of different yarn weights, I think the knotted boxes look best when the stitch is worked with sturdier cotton or cotton-like yarns and those that provide a good stitch definition.
For my sample in the images I used Rowan Bamboo Soft, which is 100% bamboo, luxuriously soft and sadly discontinued.
