This week's knit swatch features the Fishtail  / Mermaid Tail lace knit stitch.  (The stitch pattern results in vertical columns resembling fish - or mermaid tails.)

Fishtail  / Mermaid Tail Lace Knit Stitch

(The sample in the images shows the stitch worked over a multiple of 8 + 1 stitches.)

Row 1 (right side): K 1, *yo, k2, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k2, yo, k1; rep from * to end

Row 2: Purl all stitches.

Row 3: K2, *yo, k1, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k1, yo, k3; rep from * to last 7 sts, yo, k1, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k1, yo, k2.

Row 4: Purl all stitches.

Row 5: K3, *yo, sl 1, k2tog, psso, yo, k5, rep from * to last 6 sts, yo, sl 1, k2tog, psso, yo, k3.

Row 6: Purl all stitches.

Repeat Rows 1 to 6 for pattern.
