The Weekly Swatch: Crest of the Wave Knit Stitch

Another classic lace knit stitch, this week's weekly swatch showcases the Crest of the Wave knit stitch. This lace stitch motif is worked over a total of 12 rows; and the lace in- and decreases are worked on rows 5, 7, 9 and 11 only. The remainder of rows are either knitted or purled throughout. 

Crest of the Wave Knit Stitch

(Requires a multiple of 12 plus 1 stitches.)

Rows 1 - 4 : knit all stitches

Row 5: K1, [k2tog] twice, [yo, k1] 3 times, yo, [ssk] twice, k1, rep from * to end. 

Row 6: purl all stitches

Row 7: repeat row 5

Row 8: purl all stitches

Row 9: repeat row 5

Row 10: purl all stitches

Row 11: repeat row 5

Row 12: purl all stitches

Repeat Rows 1 to 12 for pattern.
