Sometimes, the wrong side of your knitting can be as appealing as the right side and it's hard to decide, which one you prefer.
The Chain Knit Stitch is actually the wrong side of the Clamshell Stitch, and the Clamshell Stitch is the wrong side of the Chain Stitch. As I couldn't decide and I like them both, here is the pattern for the Chain Stitch.

Chain Knit Stitch Pattern
Multiple of 4 plus 1 stitches
Row 1 (right side): K2, *[(p1, yo) x2, p1 in next stitch], k3; repeat from *ending final repeat with k2.
Row 2 (wrong side): P2, *k5, p3; repeat from * ending final repeat with p2.
Row 3: K2, *p5, k3; repeat from *ending final repeat with k2.
Row 4: P2, *k5tog tbl (through the back loop), p3; repeat from * ending final repeat with p2.
Row 5: K4, *[(p1, yo) x2, p1 in next stitch], k3; repeat from * to last stitch, k1.
Row 6: P4, *k5, p3; repeat from * to last stitch p1.
Row 7: K4, *p5, k3; repeat from * to last stitch k1.
Row 8: P4, *k5tog tbl (through the back loop), p3; repeat from * to last stitch, p1.
