The Weekly Swatch: Irish Moss Diamond Knit Stitch

For today's weekly swatch, I have prepared a simple textured knit stitch, which just requires knit and purl stitches. 

The stitch incorporates Irish Moss stitch diamonds, which are framed by a background of stocking stitch. The stitch motif is knitted over 16 rows on a multiple of 14 plus 8 stitches. 

Irish Moss Diamond Knit Stitch  

(Requires a multiple of 14 plus 8 stitches.)

Row 1 (right side): *[P1, k1] x4, k6, rep. from * to last 8 stitches, [p1, k1] x4.

Row 2 (wrong side):  *[P1, k1] x4, p6, rep. from * to last 8 stitches, [p1, k1] x4.

Row 3:  *[K1, p1] x3, k4, p1, k3, rep. from * to last 8 stitches, [k1, p1] x3, k2.

Row 4 : *P2, [k1, p1] x3, p3, k1, p2, rep. from * to last 8 stitches, p2, [k1, p1] x3.

Row 5: *K2, p1, k1, p1, k4, p1, k1, p1, k2, rep. from * to last 8 stitches, k2, p1, k1, p1, k3.

Row 6: *P3, k1, p1, k1, p4, k1, p1, k1, p1, rep. from * to last 8 stitches, p3, k1, p1, k1, p2.

Row 7: *K3, p1, k4, [p1, k1] x 3, rep. from * to last 8 stitches, k3, p1, k4. 

Row 8: *P4, k1, p3, [p1, k1] x 3, rep. from * to last 8 stitches, p4, k1, p3. 

Row 9: *K6, [k1, p1] x 4, rep. from * to last 8 stitches, k7, p1.  

Row 10: *K1, p7, [k1, p1] x 3, rep. from * to last 8 stitches, k1, p7. 

Row 11: *K3, p1, k4, [p1, k1] x 3, rep. from * to last 8 stitches, k3, p1, k4. 

Row 12: *P4, k1, p3, [p1, k1] x 3, rep. from * to last 8 stitches, p4, k1, p3. 

Row 13: *K2, p1, k1, p1, k4, p1, k1, p1, k2, rep. from * to last 8 stitches, k2, p1, k1, p1, k3.

Row 14: *P3, k1, p1, k1, p4, k1, p1, k1, p1, rep. from * to last 8 stitches, p3, k1, p1, k1, p2.

Row 15:  *[K1, p1] x3, k4, p1, k3, rep. from * to last 8 stitches, [k1, p1] x3, k2.

Row 16: *P2, [k1, p1] x3, p3, k1, p2, rep. from * to last 8 stitches, p2, [k1, p1] x3.

Repeat Row 1 to Row 16 for pattern.
