In this swatch, I have prepared a sample of the Lace Diamond Knit Stitch.
Diamond motifs are ever popular and this is a simple lace version. The stitch utilises the most common in- and decreases, requires a multiple of 10 plus 2 stitches and is knitted over 16 rows.
All of the wrong side rows are purled. If a double yarn over (yo) is worked on the preceding right side row, the second yarn over is purled through the back loop (ptbl) on the following wrong side row.
Lace Diamond Knit Stitch Pattern
(Requires a multiple of 10 plus 2 stitches.)
Row 1 (right side): K1, *yo, sl1, k1, psso, k1, k2tog, yo twice, sl1, k1, psso, k1, k2tog, yo; rep. from * to last stitch, k1.
Row 2 (wrong side): K1, purl to last stitch - purl into first yo as normal and ptbl (purl through the back loop on the second yo), k1.
Row 3 : K1; *k2tog, yo, k6, yo, sl1, k1, psso; rep. from * to last stitch, k1.
Row 4 : Repeat Row 2.
Row 5 : K1; *k1, k2tog, yo, k4, yo, sl1, k1, psso, k1; rep. from * to last stitch, k1.
Row 6 : Repeat Row 2.
Row 7 : K1; *k2, k2tog, yo, k2, yo, sl1, k1, psso, k2; rep. from * to last stitch, k1.
Row 8 : Repeat Row 2.
Row 9 : K1; *yo, sl1, k1, psso, k1, k2tog, yo twice, sl1, k1, psso, k1, k2tog, yo; rep. from * to last stitch, k1.
Row 10 : K1, purl to last stitch - purl into first yo as normal and ptbl (purl through the back loop on the second yo), k1.
Row 11 : K1; *k3, yo, sl1, k1, psso, k2tog, yo, k3; rep. from * to last stitch, k1.
Row 12 : Repeat Row 2.
Row 13 : K1; *k2, yo, sl1, k1, psso, k2, k2tog, yo, k2; rep. from * to last stitch, k1.
Row 14 : Repeat Row 2.
Row 15 : K1; *k1, yo, sl1, k1, psso, k4, k2tog, yo, k1; rep. from * to last stitch, k1.
Row 16 : Repeat Row 2.
Repeat Row 1 to Row 16 for pattern.
